Leviticus 23:33-44; Genesis 3: 21-24

The feast celebrated the coming day when Israel would be brought into the full rest of God
It was a celebration to the return to the Garden of Eden
It was wildly festive

OT to NT, it was always celebrated the same
Music was most prominent in this festival
Temporary booths were made that the people lived in for 7 days
More sacrifices were made at this festival than any other

It appears OT Israel on celebrated this festival twice
Dedication of temple
Return from Babylon

But by NT, this feast had taken a place of great prominence

Ceremony of the Water Drawing
During this ceremony the people prayed for the coming Holy Spirit

Illumination of the Temple
During this ceremony the people prayed for the coming Messiah

Jesus fulfilled this festival
Isaiah 6
He paid the price for our sins
He provided a way “HOME” to God

The only key needed to enter the gates of heaven, is faith in Jesus Christ. Do you hold that key?
